MyChart Bedside at a Glance
What is MyChart Bedside?
MyChart Bedside keeps you connected with everything happening while you’re in the hospital. It is an app on a hospital iPad connecting you to your care team and giving you access to your child’s inpatient health records.
What is the difference between MyChart and MyChart Bedside?
MyChart Bedside and MyChart work together. MyChart Bedside is used when you are in the hospital. It helps you collaborate in your care, connect to your care team, and ask for comfort items.
When you are not in the hospital, use the MyChart app on your phone. This lets you review information from a previous hospital stay, see when upcoming clinic appointments are scheduled, and send messages to your outpatient care team.
See information shared in MyChart Bedside after discharge through the MyChart app. To sign up for MyChart, please stop by any registration desk.

As a patient, you are entitled to read your chart. However, there is a process that must be followed. You can't just demand to read your chart and expect the nurse to let you read it immediately. This is the process for a patient who wishes to read their chart in the my former healthcare organization.

Patients that struggle with tech have a hard time with things like Pre-Checkin. Not customizable. Very hard to customize the solution to our organization's needs while ensuring upgrades are still possible. Not able to use facial recognition to log in as a patient/user.
Epic software for hospitals automates many routine tasks like patient scheduling, e-prescriptions, and referral management. This allows caregivers to save time and focus on providing direct patient care using hospital Epic.
Why can't I message any provider? Each organization chooses who is available for MyChart messaging. Generally, you can only message providers with whom you've had a recent or upcoming visit.
Messaging your doctor can be a convenient way to get medical advice. You can send a note through MyChart whenever you have time – day or night – and your provider will typically reply in one to three business days.
With limited exceptions, the HIPAA Privacy Rule (the Privacy Rule) provides individuals with a legal, enforceable right to see and receive copies upon request of the information in their medical and other health records maintained by their health care providers and health plans.
