Tagliatelle is one of my favorite kinds of pasta. It is long, flat and soaks up sauce well so I love adding it to sauces. This easy creamy shrimp tagliatelle dish is really simple and delivers restaurant-quality flavors at home! The shrimp gives this dish a delicious, savory, seafood twist while the tomato and cream provide a delicious base. Serve this yummy pasta dish for lunch or dinner and make it in just 30 minutes!

Ingredients

I used 9 ingredients to make this easy shrimp pasta tomato dish and of course, you can use less or more of each ingredient depending on your taste. Also, feel free to leave out any ingredients you don't like.

  • Tagliatelle: I used a bag of my favorite tagliatelle from the supermarket. You can also use homemade tagliatelle instead.
  • Shrimp: Feel free to use fresh shrimp or frozen shrimp. I prefer to use raw shrimps as I believe that they give the best flavors. If you are using raw shrimp make sure you devein them before cooking. If you don't the shrimp may taste bitter.
  • Tomato puree: Good-quality tomato puree will give this dish a lovely tomato flavor.
  • Double cream: I like to use double cream for my base however, you can also use single cream too.
  • Garlic: Chop up some fresh garlic for this dish. If you don't have any fresh garlic then you can use dried garlic instead.
  • Seasoning: All you need is a few ingredients to bring this lovely dish to life. Add salt to taste, paprika to taste, dried oregano and white vinegar.
  • Oil: Add a splash of oil to cook the shrimp and pasta.
  • Butter: Adding butter to the pasta adds moisture and stops it from sticking together.
  • Parsley: Garnish with fresh parsley once it's ready.

Top Tips

  • Tagliatelle: Do not cook the pasta for too long. If you do the pasta will become too soft when you add to the creamy tomato sauce.
  • Pasta Water: Reserve some pasta water after you cook the pasta and add some to the sauce if necessary.
  • Shrimp: Use fresh or raw shrimp for this recipe. Use a knife and slightly slice the center of the back of the shrimp. You should see a black vein, remove the vein and rinse. Repeat this step on the other side of the shrimp.
  • Seasoning: I like to keep things simple when it comes to seasoning this pasta but feel free to add your favorite seasoning.
  • Alternative Pasta: Feel free to use any pasta of your choice to make this dish. For example, you can use spaghetti, penne and fusilli instead.
